Kindle Goes International!

Techmeme 2009-10-07 19.05

Steven Levy / Gadget Lab:
Kindle Goes International — With a Little Help From AT&T  —  Although Amazon's Kindle e-reader has become the first major hit in its category — and the best-selling product in Amazon's entire store this year — it does have its drawbacks.  One of the biggest is that its wireless connection to the Kindle store works only in the U.S.

-  Yes!  Finally.
Lets hope it will be available here in Sweden too...

280 dollar is not so much for this version.
I wonder if books in other languages than English will be available for it too?
For example Swedish?

Just Another iPhone Blog 2009-10-03 18.55

Documents To Go – one of the leading iPhone apps for working with MS Office documents – has been updated, and added the ability to create and edit Excel spreadsheets.

- Looks very useful.
I don't know if I have some use for it though.
I never use Office software.

Still Don't Know WTF Google Wave is All About?

Google Meme 2009-10-02 15.00
So I get that Google Wave is an attempt to re-invent a modernized version of email. But its mashup of email, documents, and social networking is kinda hard to get your head around. For me at least, this video helped: By the way, if you're one of the 100,000 who have scored an invite—go here...

- A video clip that explains Google Wave.

Twitter Is Launching Shared User Lists (Groups)

Twitter Is Launching Shared User Lists!

"Users of Twitter.com will soon have the ability to create custom lists of specific users. Tweetdeck, Seesmic (and many others) currently have users list features, but soon all Twitter users will have this ability, simply by logging into Twitter.com."

- Finally Twitter adds a group feature.

It seems like Twitter tries to keep the users at the site instead of them using other services and apps for Twitter.

This new "User Lists" and the coming ReTweet function makes it easier for users to use the Twitter site instead of an app.

Google Wave crashes on beach of overhype

Google Wave crashes on beach of overhype

"But this service is way overhyped and as people start to use it they will realize it brings the worst of email and IM together: unproductivity."

- Doesn't sound too good.

Scoble use to know what he talks about.

Maybe Google Wave gets too noisy with too many users added?

I thought you could use it like Friendfeed and share things?

I will see for My self when I get an invite sometimes...

Spotify Adds Offline Music Caching to Its Desktop Player

"The feature, which lets users designate any or all of their content to be available offline, is only available to the £9.99/month or £120/year premium subscribers, but effectively hands them unlimited music, available at all times, for a flat fee" http://gizmodo.com/5372125/spotify-adds-offline-music-caching-to-its-desktop-player-makes-itunes-look-prudish

- I've got an invite for Twingly Channels, and I must say it looks interesting.
