Google raises the limit of creation of Picasa Albums instead of fixing the bug in Buzz..

svartling ™ – Posted via buzz@gmail   Apr 6, 2010
Google Photos Blog: Ten times more albums: We want Picasa Web Albums to be a place you can share and store all your digital photos, regardless of how many you have. We recently made extra storage really affordable, but until now, Picasa Web accounts have been limited to a maximum of 1,000 albums. We heard that you needed more room, and because we want you to keep sharing your photos and posting them to Buzz, we've worked hard to now raise this limit to 10,000 albums. http://ow.ly/16ZIwH

- Maybe it's because Buzz photos creates a new album for every uploaded photo :)

Linda Lawrey – Yeah, if they could fix that album issue that would help a LOT.   Apr 6, 2010
svartling ™ – Linda: Yes. I think fixing that bug must be more important than rasing the limit...   Apr 6, 2010
svartling ™ – Personally I don't think Google knows there is a bug, or that they think it should be like this..   Apr 6, 2010
Sean Brady – I think they might have addressed it with the Buzz Widget. The last few pictures I uploaded went to my dropbox instead of the regular buzz folder. I think though that they also fixed the issue posting via maps so that it will always go to a single album. Seems to work that way for me anyway.   Apr 6, 2010
svartling ™ – Sean: Ok. I've never used the Buzz Widget because I don't have an Android phone, but when I upload photos via email to buzz@gmail.com it all gets into the same album now. But not when uploading here in Gmail...   Apr 6, 2010
Linda Lawrey – I notified the @Google Buzz Team about this here in a very early post as well as posted it at the support group. So far, no changes yet.   Apr 6, 2010
svartling ™ – Linda: Google is very bad at collaborate with each other so I don't believe that the Picasa developers knows that there is a album issue here on Buzz.. The blog post even says that they have seen an increase of new created albums so that they now have increased the limit! :)   Apr 6, 2010
Linda Lawrey – I know. And Tammy who co-wrote the article doesn't leave the ability to @link to her either. http://www.google.com/profiles/103985427757968590858#buzz   Apr 6, 2010
svartling ™ – Linda: Typical Google :)   Apr 6, 2010
Linda Lawrey – Perhaps the other co-writer will respond to this issue - @Evan Tsang .   Apr 6, 2010
Hector Martinez – I can confirm that Widget and Map pictures go their respective single albums. I wish I could dictate which of my existing albums to send posts to though.   Apr 6, 2010
svartling ™ – Great @Linda Lawrey!   Apr 6, 2010
svartling ™ – Hector: Yeah that would be great.   Apr 6, 2010
Sean Brady – Wow. I guess it has been so long (well long in Buzz terms) since I have used the actual Gmail client to upload a picture that i forgot that option had the issue. Even on the desktop i have been sending to Picasa manually first and then adding from there.   Apr 6, 2010
Hector Martinez – Sometimes I wonder how can certain things be left out of a released product. Is it truly oversight, or are the developers so anxious to get something out the door they skip things and add them later. Like all things, the answer is probably somewhere in between.   Apr 6, 2010
svartling ™ – Sean: Yes that issue has been there since day 1 and we can only hope that Google sees Buzz like this so they can fix it.   Apr 6, 2010
svartling ™ – Hector: Personally I think the other way round with Google. They often wait so long (too long?) before they release a product. But as I wrote above they are really bad to collaborate with each other so they often miss out some important features and bugs.   Apr 6, 2010
Linda Lawrey – I've had to go that extra step to upload first to Picasa and it's a royal PAIN.   Apr 6, 2010
svartling ™ – Linda: Buzz should be easy, so I would never do that extra step. Lets hope they fix this soon..   Apr 6, 2010
Jason ON – @Hector -- I think it's the product managers. I think they're so focused on getting a product out while meeting the corporate culture of "open is good" that they sometimes fail to acknowledge how it will interact with other "G" products.

I know, for example, when I "Blog" a particular image they're placed in a "Blogger" folder in Picasa. If something that simple were installed in Buzz, a separate Buzz folder, that would be great.   Apr 6, 2010
svartling ™ – Jason: When posting photos via buzz@gmail.com all photos get into a "Buzz" Album. It's like that all images should be handled from all Buzz UI's.   Apr 6, 2010
Jason ON – I did not know that @svartling. I have't tried posting from buzz@gmail.com except for once and that was to see if I could "forward" an email to Buzz.   Apr 7, 2010
svartling ™ – It works ok for photos but all text must be in the subject line for some reason.. I've managed to post over 500 char in it. That is the only way at the moment you can Buzz with both text and images on an iPhone.   Apr 7, 2010
