10 Things Apple and Microsoft Haven't Learned About Google

10 Things Apple and Microsoft Haven't Learned About Google - IT Infrastructure from eWeek

"Evidently, both Apple and Microsoft misunderstood just how powerful Google really is. The company has huge coffers of cash at its disposal. It has a fantastic leadership team that knows how to get things done. And it's supported by employees who have developed some of the better services on the Web. Simply put, Google has everything going for it right now. And although Microsoft and Apple are also immensely successful, it's as if they're trying to figure out how to take on the search giant.
Of course, competing with Google can be dangerous. And it's quite evident by now that neither Apple nor Microsoft has learned everything they should about the company. Let's take a look at what Microsoft and Apple need to learn about Google" via IT Infrastructure from eWeek

- 10 slides that explains what both Apple and Microsoft haven't learned about Google.

Quite interesting post. Google get bigger and bigger. Maybe too big already?

They will dominate the world completely if they don't get stopped.

Do we want them to be stopped?

Top 10 reasons why your business should use Chinese social media

"We're sure that by now, we don't need to tell you how important social media is. What we do need to tell you is that Chinese social media is more important than you think.

If you're in an industry that markets to the Chinese; whether it's consumers, tourists, business to business or the public sector, you could be missing out on a huge potential audience. " via News | Ren Media

Hacked Twitter Accounts Tweets about weight-loss

"There are over 200 of these weight loss Tweets about at the moment, which when clicked, direct the user to a weight loss website. No Twitter user is immune to receiving these Tweets and at present nobody is sure how they have occurred.

One suggestion is that a third-party app may have been installed but it’s really too early to say. Have you or anybody you know received these weight loss Tweets yet, and how do you think they can be stopped?" Via

- This is not good. Can we trust third-part Twitter services?

How can we know if it safe to use a service based on the Twitter API?

Is OATH enough?

Cascaad Personalizes Your News Stream In Real Time on the iPhone

"Here’s how the service, currently only available as a beta iPhone app, gets pitched in their own words:

The goal is to potentiate your extended awareness of what is happening right now of personal relevance in your world. It is basically a very sophisticated realtime networked search, discovery and filter engine that distills automatically what both your friends and millions of other people are paying attention to on Twitter and other social platforms into the attention-grabbing stories, things and places that match personal interests and social affinities." - This looks just like the my6sense iPhone app. Still very interesting though!

packrati.us = Twitter + Delicious

Let the pack rat keep track of the URLs you share. You don't want to
post them in multiple places. Just tweet the URLs that interest you,
and Ratius T. Packrat will add them to your delicious.com bookmarks
for you. He'll use any hashtags you include as tags for your bookmark
and include the full text of the tweet in the bookmark comments. http://packrati.us/

- Sound like a useful service.
But I don't use del.icio.us anymore.
Maybe I will start now?

I've noticed that Buzz lives a lot longer than Tweets

I've noticed that Buzz lives a lot longer than Tweets. It must be
because a Buzz gets to the top of the stream again if someone comments.

I've had some Buzz that is 3-4 days old and still lives.

I think that is really great!

Tweets normally dies in minutes..

Mobile OS is the future of Computing

"Putting a simple and easy-to-use mobile OS onto desktops and laptops
would limit errors by users and simplify existing file-based computing"

- This is a really interesting article about future computer operating
systems based and build on mobile OS'es.

I really think that this is the future of computing.

Apples iPad and Googles Chrome OS is only the beginning.
