A test to post a picture via email

This is a test to see if I can post a picture to a blogger site via
copy and paste in mail app on my iPhone.

Twittelator for iPhone adds search fields on every Twitter Stream

svartling ™ – Posted via buzz@gmail Apr 6, 2010
My Twitter iPhone App of choice, Twittelator has been updated to
version 3.8. One of the coolest new features is a search field above
every Twitter stream. That means that we now can search in the Twitter
streams directly.

Find more info about Twittelator:
http://kb.clipotech.com/twittelator

Grey Drane – Don't suppose you've tried SimplyTweet version 3, have
you? It's a paid upgrade, but I haven't noticed any significant new
features that would make it worth paying for again. Apr 6, 2010

svartling ™ – Actually I had a beta account for it but I never used
it. Like you I don't think version three has more features that is
worth to pay for again. So no I haven't tried it and Twittelator has
everything I need. Apr 6, 2010

Grey Drane – Yeah, Twittelator is great. Just wish it would do its
own push notifications, though. Apr 6, 2010

svartling ™ – That's true but as I Said before I use the App
Notifications app for all my Push Notifications and it works great for
me. Apr 7, 2010

Grey Drane – Yeah, I use iTweetReply because it doesn't have an
ongoing charge for notifications like most of the other competing apps
do, and it works well enough, but it's not ideal. Plus it takes up
space on my iPhone screen for essentially no reason. OK, that's a
minor irritant, but still.... ;) Apr 7, 2010

svartling ™ – Heh! I can understand you :) Of course it would be
better if Twittelator has it's own Push notifications, but I believe
that means that the developer needs some kind of server for managing
that and that is probably too much to handle for him. Apr 7, 2010

Google raises the limit of creation of Picasa Albums instead of fixing the bug in Buzz..

svartling ™ – Posted via buzz@gmail   Apr 6, 2010
Google Photos Blog: Ten times more albums: We want Picasa Web Albums to be a place you can share and store all your digital photos, regardless of how many you have. We recently made extra storage really affordable, but until now, Picasa Web accounts have been limited to a maximum of 1,000 albums. We heard that you needed more room, and because we want you to keep sharing your photos and posting them to Buzz, we've worked hard to now raise this limit to 10,000 albums. http://ow.ly/16ZIwH

- Maybe it's because Buzz photos creates a new album for every uploaded photo :)

Found via http://twitter.com/pingmicropingmicro
Linda Lawrey – Yeah, if they could fix that album issue that would help a LOT.   Apr 6, 2010
svartling ™ – Linda: Yes. I think fixing that bug must be more important than rasing the limit...   Apr 6, 2010
svartling ™ – Personally I don't think Google knows there is a bug, or that they think it should be like this..   Apr 6, 2010
Sean Brady – I think they might have addressed it with the Buzz Widget. The last few pictures I uploaded went to my dropbox instead of the regular buzz folder. I think though that they also fixed the issue posting via maps so that it will always go to a single album. Seems to work that way for me anyway.   Apr 6, 2010
svartling ™ – Sean: Ok. I've never used the Buzz Widget because I don't have an Android phone, but when I upload photos via email to buzz@gmail.com it all gets into the same album now. But not when uploading here in Gmail...   Apr 6, 2010
Linda Lawrey – I notified the @Google Buzz Team about this here in a very early post as well as posted it at the support group. So far, no changes yet.   Apr 6, 2010
svartling ™ – Linda: Google is very bad at collaborate with each other so I don't believe that the Picasa developers knows that there is a album issue here on Buzz.. The blog post even says that they have seen an increase of new created albums so that they now have increased the limit! :)   Apr 6, 2010
Linda Lawrey – I know. And Tammy who co-wrote the article doesn't leave the ability to @link to her either. http://www.google.com/profiles/103985427757968590858#buzz   Apr 6, 2010
svartling ™ – Linda: Typical Google :)   Apr 6, 2010
Linda Lawrey – Perhaps the other co-writer will respond to this issue - @Evan Tsang .   Apr 6, 2010
Hector Martinez – I can confirm that Widget and Map pictures go their respective single albums. I wish I could dictate which of my existing albums to send posts to though.   Apr 6, 2010
svartling ™ – Great @Linda Lawrey!   Apr 6, 2010
svartling ™ – Hector: Yeah that would be great.   Apr 6, 2010
Sean Brady – Wow. I guess it has been so long (well long in Buzz terms) since I have used the actual Gmail client to upload a picture that i forgot that option had the issue. Even on the desktop i have been sending to Picasa manually first and then adding from there.   Apr 6, 2010
Hector Martinez – Sometimes I wonder how can certain things be left out of a released product. Is it truly oversight, or are the developers so anxious to get something out the door they skip things and add them later. Like all things, the answer is probably somewhere in between.   Apr 6, 2010
svartling ™ – Sean: Yes that issue has been there since day 1 and we can only hope that Google sees Buzz like this so they can fix it.   Apr 6, 2010
svartling ™ – Hector: Personally I think the other way round with Google. They often wait so long (too long?) before they release a product. But as I wrote above they are really bad to collaborate with each other so they often miss out some important features and bugs.   Apr 6, 2010
Linda Lawrey – I've had to go that extra step to upload first to Picasa and it's a royal PAIN.   Apr 6, 2010
svartling ™ – Linda: Buzz should be easy, so I would never do that extra step. Lets hope they fix this soon..   Apr 6, 2010
Jason ON – @Hector -- I think it's the product managers. I think they're so focused on getting a product out while meeting the corporate culture of "open is good" that they sometimes fail to acknowledge how it will interact with other "G" products.

I know, for example, when I "Blog" a particular image they're placed in a "Blogger" folder in Picasa. If something that simple were installed in Buzz, a separate Buzz folder, that would be great.   Apr 6, 2010
svartling ™ – Jason: When posting photos via buzz@gmail.com all photos get into a "Buzz" Album. It's like that all images should be handled from all Buzz UI's.   Apr 6, 2010
Jason ON – I did not know that @svartling. I have't tried posting from buzz@gmail.com except for once and that was to see if I could "forward" an email to Buzz.   Apr 7, 2010
svartling ™ – It works ok for photos but all text must be in the subject line for some reason.. I've managed to post over 500 char in it. That is the only way at the moment you can Buzz with both text and images on an iPhone.   Apr 7, 2010

Most Popular Cameras in the Flickr Community - iPhone wins!

Apr 5 svartling ™: Most Popular Cameras in the Flickr Community:
These graphs show the number of Flickr members who have uploaded at least one photo or video with a particular camera on a given day over the last year.

- As you can see, the iPhone is the most popular camera on Flickr by far.

Apr 5 Jason ON: Saw that in Flickr once and almost joined for that alone: you can search for images by camera! How cool is that? Picasa doesn't let you do that as far as I know.
Apr 5 svartling ™: Jason: Yes that is cool! Picasa doesn't have so many features like Flickr has.

iPhone 4.0 event coming April 8 - Let's hope they announce the next iPhone too!

Apr 5 svartling ™: iPhone 4.0 event coming April 8:
Emerging from the shadows of the iPad release is an invitation from Apple to participate in an iPhone 4.0 event on April 8 -- three days away. Other than the collective Internet gasp of shock, there's little known about what the event will bring other than the preview of a new OS at this time. http://www.tuaw.com/2010/04/05/iphone-4-0-event-coming-april-8/

- I'm excited! :)
I hope Apple will announce the next iPhone too!
With a 4.3-inch screen :)

Found via http://twitter.com/gadgetsearch

Apr 5 Tutivillus Grift: Watching cautiously
Apr 5 svartling ™: I will somehow blog/tweet/buzz this event while watching it "live" online. I usually do that with every Apple event :) I used my Posterous blog for it before, but maybe using Buzz this time?
Apr 5 Stefan Ålund: I'm always trying to find a live video feed, e.g. through Bambuser but I never found one. Could it be that Apple is preventing it? In any case, looking forward to the event!
Apr 5 svartling ™: I use to find one everytime and then cover the event from watching it. The last event I tweeted and my followers appreciated it :)

Scobleizer will probably send live.

Twittelator Pad - Twittelator has released an app for the iPad

ebhWi.jpg

Twittelator Pad: Twittelator Pad is the ultimate way to experience Twitter on your iPad.
Absolutely nothing was taken for granted when redesigning Twittelator for the iPad. Every graphic and interaction was distinctly tailored to create a best-of-breed Twitter experience.

I really like Twittelator Pro for my iPhone so I've been waiting to see it for the iPad too.
The design looks really great but what I understand it misses some of all the features the the iPhone version has (why?).

Personally I will not use a Twitter App without TextExpander Touch support, so if that support is not in this version they have failed.

Find more info about Twittelator: http://kb.clipotech.com/twittelator
1:43 pm svartling ™: I must say that the pictures looks really tasty. If they add all the features I want this app alone could make me buy an iPad :)
6:19 pm Chris Rowley: I like the app in theory but am not happy with its portrait layout. I prefer to stay in portrait mode all the time (I even have the lock on unless I have a very specific reason to go landscape) and in this mode you have to use a drop-down to access the feed while the "detail" information remains in the center. It shouldn't be that tough for the developer to have two sizes for the elements to support the added height in portrait to make up for the lack of width and allow the timeline to always be visible regardless of orientation.
6:30 pm svartling ™: Chris: Ok. Thanks for the info about this. I don't have an iPad so I can't test this version of the app myself.

I have now used Google Buzz instead of my "normal" blogs for a week, and I must say that it works really great!

svartling ™: Ok. I have now used Google Buzz instead of my "normal" blogs for a week, and I must say that it works really great!
I have never had so much interaction on none of my blogs ever as I've had here on Buzz!

If this continues to be this good I will never go back to "normal" blogging again.

BuzzBlogging is a perfect match for me. Google Buzz is a perfect microblog/blogging platform. I like it 100%.

Thank you all for all the interaction on my Buzz!

12:08 am svartling ™: You can see the story and discussion behind this here: http://www.google.com/buzz/104961406012654314344/ca5ahWLe8G1/Heck-Ive-decided-to-stop-blogging-for-a-while-now
12:10 am Jason ON: I still have my Blogger, but whenever I post a blog it just sends it to Buzz anyway. So, it's like I'm in two places at once. Thanks, Google!
12:12 am svartling ™: Jason: But you get all the interaction here don't you? :)
Almost never on your blog..

Thats the beauty of Buzz! :)
12:15 am Jason ON: True. When I get interaction.
12:16 am Rebekah ·: Good post, Svartling! It's nice to see..
12:18 am svartling ™: Thanks :) I really like this!
12:28 am Rebekah ·: me too
12:32 am Thomas Morffew: Glad to be part of it.
12:35 am outofmyarse .: An interesting idea to use it as a blogging platform....I like it
12:35 am M Farber: Good, I'm glad it works for you too :)
12:40 am svartling ™: Outof.. It's a really good blogging platform and it's getting better and better.
12:40 am Myrna Weinreich: Nice!
12:43 am svartling ™: M Farber: I know you use Buzz as a blog too sort of. Isn't it great? It's the interaction that makes Buzz so awesome as a "blog"!
12:45 am svartling ™: Myrna: Yes Buzz is nice!
1:14 am George Hall (@geehall1): At least with a normal blog you know what the traffic is. While you'd get engagement in Buzz, does that help as far as traffic goes?
1:51 am Thomas Gill: You've turned me on to it. Your right. Buzzie is great!
8:48 am svartling ™: George: Why is traffic important?
I blog for fun and engagement IS fun.
9:01 am Chris Loft: That's interesting Stefan, I'm finding that my Buzz seems isolated from Twitter, FF and FB. I wonder how far down the track it will be before we have Google Analytics integrated with Buzz, then we would have even more information about levels of engagement.
9:09 am svartling ™: Chris: Yeah maybe. I've integrated my Buzz with my Twitter quite well. I know that I get quite much traffic from Twitter. Every Buzz I post gets tweeted and many of my Twitter followers comes here and comments on them. My Buzz gets ReTweeted often too.
9:10 am Ahmet Karaoglan: buzz rocks
9:10 am svartling ™: Yeah Ahmet. Buzz rocks! :)
9:12 am Ahmet Karaoglan: You rock too :)
9:17 am svartling ™: Ahmet: Thanks :) Oh and you too ;)
10:09 am M Farber: Yes, I use it as a blog meaning that most of what I post is found and put together by me often by browsing Flickr, Wikipedia or museums and libraries archives. I am not just sharing articles from other sources. I can also write longer posts if I need to :) I've integrated Buzz only with Twitter , I still use FF a bit but I'm not prepared to send Buzz there with no pictures.
10:15 am svartling ™: M Farber: I made the mistake to connect my Buzz with Friendfeed and now there is a bug there that publish my Buzz even as I removed my Buzz feed!

I don't use friendfeed anymore, so it's not so important anyways.
10:24 am M Farber: I've heard there is a ghost Google Reader bug too, it keeps importing even after you remove the service.
11:00 am svartling ™: M Farber: Sounds like the exact same problems I have with the Buzz feed in friendfeed..
11:43 am outofmyarse .: It does that with Ping.FM as well....I've removed Buzz from the service but still imports
11:45 am svartling ™: Ok. I'm glad I'm using Buzz instead then ;)
11:49 am M Farber: It looks like FF is slowly disintegrating :( I would have preferred if they closed it down than this long agony and limbo to be honest.
11:51 am svartling ™: M Farber: Yes. They never add new features anymore and there are only the real fanboys left that using it actively.
12:16 pm Morgaine LeFaye: Don't forget the fangirls :)
12:26 pm Chris Loft: . . . and just plain ol' boys :)
1:15 pm svartling ™: Ok, fangirls and just boys too then :)

Reasons to Switch to Ubuntu From Microsoft Windows

Reasons to Switch to Ubuntu From Microsoft Windows
Ubuntu is a completely free Operating System, which has all of the bells and whistles available in Microsoft Windows. The fact that this Operating system is completely free should appeal to the average user, but more significantly to businesses, which spend much of their IT budgets on user licenses with Microsoft. Ubuntu comes in a few different versions available to meet the needs of users and companies in need of specific configurations. http://www.mediaverso.com/reasons-to-switch-to-ubuntu-from-microsoft-windows.html

Found via http://twitter.com/pingmicro

10:57 am svartling ™: Kinda great post for Linux beginners.
11:10 am Risto Päärni: I dig Ubuntu but the security is not easy for me to meet. Downloading fluently upgrades to Ubuntu needs more understanding of the Great Linux Distro. I do like it though.
11:12 am svartling ™: I've never used Linux but If I had a Windows Laptop lying around I would probably install Ubuntu on it. It's free and not so bloated as Windows.
5:06 pm Johan Burell: I recommend using LinuxMint. Same benefits as Ubuntu, better UI/admin design. IMHO
5:11 pm Johan Burell: svartling: Isn't there something like Wubi (http://wubi-installer.org/) for Mac? If so, you could use that to give it a try.
5:32 pm svartling ™: Johan: Thanks for the tip! Maybe I'll try that sometimes.
7:52 pm Christopher Carr: Linux Mint 8, which is based on Ubuntu 9.10, is probably a better option for someone new to Linux. For one thing, proprietary codecs and whatnot are preinstalled -- so you don't have to mess with that.

http://www.linuxmint.com/
7:55 pm Jason ON: I'm running Ubuntu and love it!
7:58 pm svartling ™: Christopher: Do you think Linux Mint will run on a Acer eMacines laptop? Without hassle?
8:11 pm Johan Burell: svartling: It works on almost all machines. I'm running LinuxMint on a 3y old Dell Inspiron, works great. It is free so just try it to find out. I believe you can run it as a live CD so you can try it out without installing first.
8:14 pm svartling ™: Johan: We have a crashed Acer eMachines at home that need a new harddrive, but I don't want to install Vista on it again, so maybe I will try LinuxMint when I install a new harddrive.
8:37 pm Christopher Carr: @svartling ™ Yep. Should run just fine.
8:44 pm svartling ™: Thanks Christopher.

It can generally be said that userscripts are more resource friendly than extension

It can generally be said that userscripts are more resource friendly than extension.
So why don't use some of over 40000 Userscripts that are available at userscripts.orghttp://blog.chromium.org/2010/02/40000-more-extensions.html

It's a lot better to use scripts and bookmarklets in Chrome than extensions.

Extensions slows down the Browser.

4:06 pm George B. Moga: There is actually not much difference between scripts and extensions, since Chrome threats scripts as options-less extensions. I don't see why extensions slow down the browser and scripts don't
The problem with scripts is that they are not designed/tested for Chrome. I recently tried some scripts for Google Reader, but only the most basic worked...
5:31 pm svartling ™: George: There is some more info in this post: http://www.ghacks.net/2010/04/04/why-you-should-use-userscripts-and-not-extensions-when-possible/

Personally I use Bookmarklets as much as I can instead of Extensions. They don't load before i want to use them.

For example A Google Reader Subscribe extension must check for a feed everytime a page is loaded and some extensions even check if the feed already are subscribed too.
That slows down the Browser.

It doesn't do that with A Bookmarklet to subscribe to feeds.
7:52 pm Mike Elliott: I'm definitely bigger fan of bookmarklets than extensions for Chrome. Although extensions are surprisingly stable even though I'm using Google Chrome Beta for Mac.
7:53 pm svartling ™: Mike: Yes extensions is quite stable on Chrome but some of them slows down the Browser because they need to check pages when loading.

Buzzie the Google Buzz iPhone App gets better - Now with Photo uploading!

I bought the Google Buzz iPhone App Buzzie today and I must say that it has got a lot better since the first version!

You can even add photos now! Really cool!

I wish they add TextExpander Touch support though. The SDK is free so why not?
It would make it a lot easier to write and link.
Please?

Apr 3 Michael Jauernik: Thanks, have to try the new version. First one was not that good.
Apr 3 svartling *: Right now it's quite buggy though when adding images... It says that they have fixed some bugs and a new version will soon be available in AppStore..
9:35 pm Vince DeGeorge: I loved it earlier now it's crashing whenever I try to use it. Restarted iPhone and reinstalled the app - but crashing every time.
11:28 pm svartling *: Vince: I've used it for a couple of hours now and it has crashed once for me, and that was when I added a photo.
11:36 pm Jagged Wraith: Isn't the same app free on dorid?
11:39 pm svartling *: Jagged: There is a free "Light" version for iPhone too.
11:56 pm Jagged Wraith: ahh

Why iPad Will Change Blogging For Me - The iPhone has already done that for me

Why iPad Will Change Blogging For Me: The screenshots made me wonder if somehow the iPad would help me overcome the shortcomings of the iPhone. In one of my earlier posts about the device Steve Jobs calls "magical," I had pointed out that the iPad would enable anywhere computing. It would change the very idea of working on a computer all together. Just like cell phones have made the idea of making calls from a fixed location almost seem ridiculous, iPad could do precisely the same for computing. http://gigaom.com/2010/04/02/why-ipad-will-change-blogging-for-me/

- This is what I already does on my iPhone using BlogPress. On the iPad it will be even easier to blog.

2:39 pm David Buckleton: double like.
2:46 pm Stefan Svartling: This is what I'm been talking about. The iPad will make us create more content because it's much easier to do that from these kind of units and user interface.
2:59 pm Rebekah •: When will they be released in Sweden, @Stefan Svartling ?
3:02 pm Phoenix1914 .: Grats to all purchasers of the iPad Wi-Fi version. Looking forward to feedback from Wi-Fi users. I will be sharing my experience using the soon to be released iPad Wi-Fi + 3G version over at http://ipadlink.tumblr.com
3:04 pm Stefan Svartling: Rebekah: We still have no launch date here in Sweden :(
3:08 pm Rebekah •: boooh... :-\
3:09 pm @ svartling: Ja. Really booh :) Is it available in Canada yet?
3:16 pm Rebekah •: no, but it will be at the end of this month...
3:17 pm @ svartling: Will you buy it?
3:23 pm Rebekah •: no, not at this point ... I don't even have a decent cellphone and there are photo gear that I want too.... so much stuff these days -- it's hard to make up ones mind.. :o)
3:26 pm @ svartling: @Rebekah • OK. I can understand that.
3:31 pm Sally Church: I'd love to know if Google Apps will work with the iPad. If working in Google Docs on and offline is possible, that would be all sorts of awesomesauce for me and the temptation to get one to replace my 6 yo Powerbook would probably be too much.
3:34 pm svartling *: Sally: I can't think of any reason why it should not work. I use Google Apps on my iPhone Sometimes. You just log in with which Google Account you want to use.
3:41 pm Sally Church: @svartling yes I use it on my iphone on the road occasionally too, but it's a bit fiddly. I was at a symposium the other week trying to take notes and realised this is where the iPad would fill a huge gap for me and improve my technology experience.

But trying to resist the urge and craving!! Aieeee!
3:43 pm svartling *: Sally: It will work on the iPad too then. Only better. Google will probably update all the other apps for the iPad just like they did with Gmail. http://www.google.com/buzz/104961406012654314344/Bk4EQJqjfpz/Gmail-Updated-for-the-iPad-the-Gmail-for-iPad
4:20 pm Oliver Bouchard: The only problem is offline. The iPad certainly would support Gears, so besides the mobile versions of Gmail and Calendar all other applications will not work offline. So we're waiting for HTML5 implementations from Google...
4:57 pm svartling *: Oliver: Thanks for the info.

There is now a special version of the Gmail Mobile Web App for the iPad - Looks great!

Gmail Updated for the iPad: the Gmail for iPad sports a double column display and looks great with whole threads unfurled. "Tablets like the iPad give us even more room to innovate," the Gmail team said today.
http://www.readwriteweb.com/archives/gmail_updated_for_the_ipad.php

- Looks great!
Apr 2 Oliver Bouchard: This hopefully means that it's offline capable, something the desktop version still isn't (if you can't run Gears)
12:00 am Stefan Svartling: Oliver: Yes and I think the UI looks better than on the desktop.
4:56 am Oliver Bouchard: I just notice that on the mobile version HTML-formatted e-mails are not displayed very well - you have to scroll horizontally to read them. Hopefully the big screen version fixes that. We'll see tomorrow.
4:59 am Jagged Wraith: They say its A Gmail web app for iPad but is it really? Safari and the Droid browser are made of exactly the same stuff. http://webkit.org/blog/142/android-uses-webkit/
5:27 am Ryan Jones: Right, it looks just like the regular mobile Gmail webapp (Android, iPhone, etc.), but reorganized into a two-column format for the larger screen.
6:27 am Nick Waye: You can give the iPad interface a try using this lifehacker "hack" to change your user agent in Firefox:
http://lifehacker.com/5508260/how-to-use-gmails-attractive-new-tablet+friendly-interface-on-your-regular-old-computer
6:32 am Jagged Wraith: very neat
9:31 am Stefan Svartling: Jagged: The Two column Web App version is for the iPad only.
9:31 am Stefan Svartling: Nick: Thanks for the tip! :)
9:39 am Jagged Wraith: i tested it out with mozilla. Its not that great. Seems like there is a whole tablet library of apps being developed for tablets. http://www.google.com/buzz/timothy.lawless/YiZxL4FJK2V/via-Nick-WayeHow-to-Use-Gmails-Attractive-New
10:12 am Stefan Svartling: Jagged: Ok. I haven't tried it. What was not so good?
10:23 am Jagged Wraith: nah it works good. im sure its more fun with a touch screen. Its just kinda blah on the desktop.
10:43 am Stefan Svartling: Jagged: Ok. I understand :)

Wall Street Journal iPad Subscription is way to expensive!

WSJ iPad subscription officially $17.29 per month -- is Murdoch insane? -- Engadget

Apple Tries to Ease Your Fears: This browser plugin, used across the Web for everything from streaming video to casual games, is slowly being phased out by HTML5, the next revision of the core markup language used in the creation of Web pages. The video support included in the upcoming Web standard requires no downloadable, installable plugin in order to work.  http://www.readwriteweb.com/archives/worried_about_flash_on_the_ipad_apple_tries_to_ease_your_fears.php

- I still thinks that this is a good move by Apple.
No need for plugins is always good.

10:02 pm Stefan Ålund: Go HTML5 :)
10:09 pm Stefan Svartling: Exactly! :)
10:33 pm Stefan Svartling: This is a smart move by Apple. An online collection with sites that supports HTML5 pushes other big sites to do the same.

About Buzzing by email from the iPhone

I know that this Buzz probably will look funny or messy but it's a test to see how it will look like if I mail a Buzz via buzz@gmail.com and put a long text in the "Subject" line. The reason why is that it's the only way to have a text published with a picture! We cant put any text in the body of the email. I really don't know why Google doesn't allow that? Here is a link to my Knowledge Search: http://www.clipotech.com/ (a link test)

12:23 pm Stefan Svartling: It worked but looks really ugly with no spaces...
12:25 pm Stefan Svartling: I could post a quote with a link to the source and a picture that way, and then add my comments an more info via comments though.
But that's not good either because the Buzz gets tweeted in realtime and the visitors will not see that directly..
12:27 pm Stefan Svartling: The reason I'm experementing with this is that email is the only way to post a Buzz with pictures from My iPhone.
12:29 pm Stefan Svartling: Do someone know if we could add more than one picture via email?
12:35 pm Stefan Svartling: Works great for longtweets though!
12:45 pm Stefan Svartling: Actually it will be very cool to type a reply with more than 140 char via Buzz to Twitter!
12:50 pm Rebekah ...: ...and you can only put so much text in the subject line. It's not so good -- perhaps, just if you want to drop a short line..
1:04 pm Stefan Svartling: I don't know what the Limitation is. How many characters can we have in the subject line?

I wrote the text in the great SimpleNote iPhone app and copy and paste it in the subject line of the mail.
1:11 pm Robert Birming: You can add text with a picture using the "Insert: Photo" feature, or am I missing something here?
1:17 pm Stefan Svartling: Robert: Yes you are missing something here :)
if you read the comments you will understand that from my iPhone the only way to post a Buzz with a photo is by email. I know pretty well how I do it from Buzz in Gmail on my desktop :)
1:18 pm Rebekah ...: I've only tried it once, but I do remember ...as I was typing, I hit the wall all of a sudden. It wasn't all that much text I had typed.
1:21 pm Stefan Svartling: Rebekah: As you can see I managed to post quite much text and two links. Maybe it depends on which program we use? I use "GoMailYourself" on my iPhone.
1:26 pm Rebekah ...: http://www.google.com/buzz/115792648988367298557/7sD7WChCRtL/This-is-nothing-but-a-test-to-see-how-much-text-I
1:31 pm Stefan Svartling: Thanks for testing! But it still looks like I posted more characters than you somehow..
1:41 pm Robert Birming: Aha, I read the post.
2:09 pm Stefan Svartling: Robert: Good! :)
2:26 pm Robert Birming: I see what you mean now and I userstand the problem. It would be nice of you could use the body of an email for posting longer texts.

BTW, I don't like that separate Picasa folders are created when using the standard version of Buzz for insering pictures.
4:29 pm Stefan Svartling: Robert: Yes and it's strange that we can't do that, I mean it works when mailblogging to a Blogger blog!

The Picasa thing with different folder for every Buzz is also strange..
4:34 pm Robert Birming: Yes, let's hope they'll soon change it.

Google Buzz now shows favicons on all links added in a Native Buzz

Hey! Very cool new icons (favicons) on Buzz! :)
Now when you create Native Buzz in Gmail, Buzz parses URL's so we get icons (favicons)!

Cool :)

Stefan Svartling – But only when we using Buzz in Gmail... Not on our Google Profiles or on Permalinks.....   Mar 31, 2010
Rebekah ... – NOW I can see it..   Mar 31, 2010
Mike Elgan – Hmm. Anyway this could be user-controllable? Or does it just pick up the favicon of the destination no matter what?   Apr 1, 2010
Thomas Morffew – Can't see it from Gmail.............   Apr 1, 2010
Rebekah ... – I must try it and see how it works..   Apr 1, 2010
Stefan Svartling – Mike: No it's not user controllable. Buzz autoparse the favicon from the sites we link to.   Apr 1, 2010
Stefan Svartling – Thomas: You cant see any icons on this Buzz becasue I haven't link to any sites here. Go check some other Buzz, but works only in Gmail.   Apr 1, 2010
