Screencast: This is how I blog & tweet the hot news fast!

svartling on twitter This post is Tweeted And Buzzed by svartling:

This is how I really fast & easy blogs (microblogging & Tweeting at the same time) from NetNewsWire to my pingmicro blogs at Posterous. I'm using NetNewsWire, AppleScripts, Mail & TextExpander. Oh, & I talk Swedish in the video so Mute the sound if you are not Swedish :)
- As you can see it goes really fast!
Some of you have asked how I can do this so fast. Here is how I do it :)
Actually the key to this is all my keyword searches from Google News and Google Alerts.
I found the hot news really fast because of them :)

As you can see I find and post something in under 1 minute, both to Pingmicro News and Twitter!

WordPress Just Made Millions of Blogs Real-Time With RSSCloud

svartling on twitter This post is Tweeted And Buzzed by svartling:

Image representing WordPress as depicted in Cr...Image via CrunchBase

"All blogs on the WordPress.com platform and any WordPress.org blogs that opt-in (usingthis plug-in) will now make instant updates available to any RSS readers subscribed to a new feature called RSSCloud." http://www.readwriteweb.com/archives/wordpress_just_made_millions_of_blogs_real-time_wi.php

- This is really great! One more step to make RSS real-time!
I was one of them that thought RSS was dying, but when Google started to implement the PubSubHubbub protocol everywhere, I've started to see that RSS has alot more to give!
And now RSSCloud too. We will soon have all our feeds updated in near real-time. The future looks bright.

Lifestreaming is the blogging of the future

svartling on twitter This post is Tweeted And Buzzed by svartling:

streamlined posting functionality for specific...Image via Wikipedia

I think Lifestreaming is the blogging of the future. Really.
If we using services like Swurl, Friendfeed, Tumblr and more, then we could use all our favorite social networks and get a blog (Lifestream) automatically that presents all the content that we create on all the different social networks that we use.

It doesn't matter anymore what service we use, all is presented in one centralized place anyway.

See my web site at www.svartling.net as an example what we could do. I am not saying that it is the best way to doit, but It suits my needs to present what I do around the net.

Some tech factors have started the move: iPhone proving that mobile can provide fine web experience, as well as indirectly facilitating the spread of unlimited access to the Internet on mobile, general will to tend to simplicity, speed, efficiency. And a new web generation has risen. A new generation to which blogging is fine, but too slow, not that easy, and not that much efficient. And some old and tired of blogging famous people (hey, that’s already 4 years blogging being trendy) willing to retire, but without loosing all connections to where they belong (sort of).Romain Pechard, Social Tools + Twitter + Trend = Lifestreaming is the new big, Aug 2008

Translation Widgets for Your Site

Both Microsoft and Google added widgets for translating your web page into another language. The feature was already available at BabelFish, but the site makes a major faux-pas by using flags to represent languages.

TinyLoad Allows Upload To Multiple Data Storage Sites

Online data storage is a competitive landscape as evidenced by our previous listing of over 80 services. While 80+ well-developed online storage operations is an impressive figure, more notable is the free pricing structure adopted by these sites.
